We offer a 30-day return policy for dry goods. You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, the item must:
- Be unused and in the same condition you received it.
- Be in its original packaging with all tags and accessories.
- Include the original receipt or proof of purchase.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (such as receiving the wrong or a defective item).
Returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted. Items returned in used, damaged, or non-original condition may be refused.
Restocking Fee
Approved returns for reasons other than our error are subject to a 5% restocking fee, which will be deducted from the refund amount. This fee helps cover payment processing, handling, and administrative costs.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, contact us as soon as possible at kaneaquarium@gmail.com with your order number and photos of the issue. We will review the claim and work to resolve it promptly.
Shipping Charges
Please note that the original shipping charges paid by the customer are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or if the return is due to an error on the part of Kane Aquarium (such as receiving an incorrect or defective item).
Customers are also responsible for the cost of return shipping, unless the return is due to an error on the part of Kane Aquarium (such as receiving an incorrect or defective item).
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Live fish
- Corals
- Invertebrates
- Live plants
- Special-order or custom products
- Aquarium installation or maintenance services
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
- Sale or clearance items
- Gift cards
If you are unsure whether an item is eligible for return, please contact us before placing your order.
Exchanges
To receive a different item, please return the original item (if eligible). Once your return has been approved, you may place a new order for the replacement item.
Please note: All livestock sales are final and are not eligible for exchanges.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days, less any applicable restocking fee. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or credit card provider.
If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved and you have not received it, please contact us at kaneaquarium@gmail.com.
Order Cancellation
Orders may be cancelled only before they have been processed or shipped. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your order.
If your cancellation request is approved for reasons other than an error by Kane Aquarium, a 5% cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. This fee covers payment processing, handling, restocking, and administrative costs, where it applies.
Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled. If the item is eligible, you may request a return after delivery in accordance with this Return & Refund Policy.
Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
Our Dead on Arrival (DOA) Guarantee applies only to live livestock purchased through the Kane Aquarium website and shipped directly by Kane Aquarium.
To qualify for a DOA claim:
- The claim must be submitted within 24 hours of the delivery time shown by the shipping carrier.
- Email your claim to kaneaquarium@gmail.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and a clear, unedited video of the livestock.
- The video must clearly show the livestock still sealed in its original, unopened shipping bag. If the bag has been opened, the DOA guarantee is void.
- Claims submitted without the required video evidence will not be eligible for DOA coverage.
If your DOA claim is approved by Kane Aquarium, a store credit equal to the purchase price of the affected livestock will be issued to your online customer account.
The DOA guarantee covers only the value of the affected livestock. Shipping charges, handling fees, processing fees, and any other charges are non-refundable and will not be credited.
Kane Aquarium reserves the right to approve or deny any DOA claim based on the information and evidence provided.
